The Newfoundland Club of the Carolinas (NCC) was founded to bring together Newfoundland owners (present & future), companion owners, conformation owners, exhibitors, and breeders in harmony to enjoy the Newfoundland Breed.
To provide Newfoundland education and Newfie activities amongst friendly and courteous members in a fun and relaxed setting where all can enjoy their Newfs whether they are black, white & black (Landseer), brown, gray, puppies or veterans, Newf show-dogs or pet companions.
What activities can you and your Newf do together within the NCC? How about participating in Water training, Water Rescue training, Canine Good Citizen, Obedience, Rally-Obedience, Tracking, Search & Rescue, Agility, Handling/Exhibiting, Conformation, Fun Matches, Carting/Drafting and Free-style Dancing!
The NCC also provides education in all aspects of the Newfoundland breed, including Newfoundland breed seminars, health issues and health tests for Newfoundlands, how to research Newfoundland breeders, how to groom Newfoundlands, train a Newfoundland and much much more!
Although our club operates in accordance with the regulations of the AKC (American Kennel Club) and the NCA, we are not a sanctioned regional club of the parent club (Newfoundland Club of America). However, we do serve a specific region, that being North and South Carolina, for those who wish to further their education and enjoy activities with their Newfy amongst others who love the breed. We do have support level members who are not limited geographically, who applaud the objects of the NCC.
The Newfoundland Club of the Carolinas is a Performance & Educational Club, the NCC does not physically rescue Newfoundlands.
We believe, the best way to cut down on all the unwanted and discarded Newfoundlands is to educate the public before one purchases this large-breed dog.
Our club is not for everyone. Unique to membership in NCC is agreement to abide by a detailed Code of Ethics.
The Club was founded upon this code in order to maintain the highest ethical standards.
In respect to these "gentle giants", we as their humans whether breeders or companion owners; have a great responsibility in doing our part to protect and preserve the Newfoundland Breed.
